On May 29 this year the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov signed the Decree o­n awarding Mirjalol Kasymov, the renowned veteran Uzbek football player, the Order of “Mekhnat Shukhrati” (‘Glory of Labor’), the local newspapers reported.

The text of the Decree, published in the leading national newspapers, has read that such award goes to o­ne of the famous sportspeople of the country “for the big merits in glorifying the Uzbek football around the world, raising its authority in the international arena, deserved contribution to the development of national football”.

Mirjalol Kushakovich Kasymov, according to the wording of the document, now serves as a senior coach of the National and Olympic football teams of Uzbekistan.

As the local agencies have earlier reported, o­n June 2 this year Tashkent will host a farewell game with participation of the renowned Uzbek football veteran.
