On December 12 this year President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov signed a Decree on relieving Ruziev Bakhriddin Murtazaevich of his post of khokim (governor) of Navoi Province, according to the national newspapers.

“In line with clause 15 of the Article 93 and Article 102 of the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan Ruziev Bakhriddin Murtazaevich shall be relieved of his post of khokim of Navoi Province”, the text of the Decree has read in particular.

The same day President signed another Decree. In keeping with the text of the Decree, Turdimov Erkinjon Okbutaevich, who has earlier served as the First Deputy Minister for Agriculture and Water Economy of Uzbekistan, shall be appointed as the khokim of Navoi Province.

As the Information Agency “Jahon” reported December 12, while referring to the local news agencies, the same day the Uzbek Leader traveled to Navoi Province where he took part at the extraordinary session of Kengash (Council) of people’s deputies. At the session the Uzbek Leader is reported to have taken a floor.
