HRH Raja Nazrin Shah: “Uzbekistan is a country with rich historical and architectural legacy”
Malaysian
delegation headed by HRH Raja Nazrin Shah, the Crown Prince of the
state of Perak, Malaysia, visited Uzbekistan from 4th to 7th June 2011.
During the visit HRH Raja Nazrin Shah and his delegation familiarized
themselves with the historical and architectural heritage of Samarkand
and Tashkent cities and held a meeting at the Ministry of Foreign
Economic Relations, Investments and Trade of the Republic of
Uzbekistan. Just before departing Tashkent, HRH Raja Nazrin Shah met
our correspondent and shared with him his experiences and
impressions.
In particular, HRH Raja Nazrin Shah highly evaluated the economic
successes of our country. “The economic achievements of Uzbekistan are
impressive. Achieving GDP growth of 8.5% at a time when the rest of the
world is just struggling to recover from the international financial
and economic crisis is quite a feat. Here in your country you have
great opportunities for business and favourable investment climate”, -
noted HRH Raja Nazrin Shah.
On the outcome of his meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Economic
Relations, Investments and Trade, HRH Raja Nazrin Shah informed that
during the meeting the two sides discussed issues which could
contribute to further deepening of bilateral investment and
trade-economic cooperation between the two countries.
”We exchanged views on the perspectives of cooperation in the fields of
energy, machine-building, manufacturing of electrical and electronic
appliances and in other areas of interest for Malaysia business
community”, - noted HRH Raja Nazrin Shah.
According to HRH Raja Nazrin Shah, the bilateral cooperation in the
field of tourism also has a huge potential, as such Uzbekistan’s rich
historical and cultural heritage are very interesting for Malaysian
tourists.
”Although my visit to Uzbekistan has been very short, still I was able
to familiarize myself with many landmarks of your country. The
richness, uniqueness and diversity of the historical and cultural
heritage of the Uzbek people have left with me unforgettable memories
and experiences. I am definitely planning to come again in order to
familiarize myself more closely with the unique historical heritage of
the ancient cities of Uzbekistan”, - concluded HRH Raja Nazrin Shah.
