Tashkent is the capital of Islamic culture in 2007. Such has been the decision by the Islamic educational, scientific and cultural organization (ISESCO) this outgoing year.

The reconstruction and refurbishment work at the Khazrati Imam (Khastimom) Complex in the city of Tashkent in 2007 has become as a part of considerable initiatives launched to reconstruct and restore the sites of national architecture and religious worship in Uzbekistan.
