On the eve of the 17th anniversary of Uzbekistan’s Independence the Samarkand State Museum-Reserve launched exhibition of Japanese photo correspondent Jin Akino “Historical cities of Uzbekistan – part of the UNESCO world heritage”, the agencies reported. 

Over 40 best works of photographer that focused on historical monuments of Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva and Shakhrisabz and other places of sightseeing were displayed at the exhibition.

Invaluable monuments of the ancient cities of Uzbekistan which are the heritage of the Uzbek great ancestors impressed people during many centuries. Today the tourists from all around the world with admiration learn about the masterpieces of Oriental architecture of Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva, Shakhrisabz, Karshi, Marghilan and Kokand.

Those who spoke at the exhibition highly assessed the work of correspondent of Japanese national information institute Jin Akino on studying and researching the history of cities located on the Great Silk Road. He is the participant of Samarkandnoma project of Samarkand World and Commonwealth Museum. He held several presentations of photos dedicated to Uzbekistan at the Japanese city of Yokohama. Last year in Tokyo he organized the exhibition of photos dedicated to the 2750th anniversary of Samarkand that made a big impression on visitors.

“The unique charm of eastern architecture attracts me very much,” Jin Akino said. “It is interesting that Uzbekistan preserved well the monuments of ancient cities. Each brick and pattern of ornament of these masterpieces trace back to centuries-old history,” he further said.
