President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov received the Director-General of
the World Health Organization Margaret Chan in Oqsaroy residence on 26
November.
President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov signed a decree on 24 November on
awarding the Director-General of the World Health Organization Margaret
Chan with the first-level Soglom Avlod Uchun (For the Healthy
Generation) order.
Tashkent hosted an international seminar on “The participation of civil
society institutes in implementing the tasks of achieving the UN
Millennium Development Goals: experience of Uzbekistan”.
The Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan held a plenary
session on 18 November to consider the forecast of the key macroeconomic
indicators, the concept of the tax and budget policy and the draft
state budget of Uzbekistan for 2012.
President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov traveled November
16 to the Ma’rifat Markazi (Center of Enlightenment) erected in the city
of Tashkent.
The fifth meeting of the Forum “Republic of Korea – Central Asia” was
held in Tashkent on 15 November. Delegations of the Republic of Korea,
as well as Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and
Turkmenistan exchanged views on development of cooperation during the
meeting.
As reported earlier, on the invitation of President Islam Karimov,
President of the Republic of Hungary Pal Schmitt arrived in Uzbekistan
November 6 with official visit.
Heads of states and international organizations have sent congratulatory
letters to President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov on the occasion of
Qurban Hayit (Eid al Adha). In their letters, the foreign leaders wished
good health and successes to the head of the state and peace and
prosperity to the people of Uzbekistan.

Tashkent November 6 with official visit.

Uzbekistan on 6-8 November.
Three international exhibitions, “Transport and Logistics –
TransUzbekistan 2011”, “Automobiles, Spare Parts and Service – Auto
& Parts Uzbekistan 2011”, and the “Central Asia International
Exhibition Protection, Security and Fire Safety – CAIPS 2011”, opened in
Tashkent on Thursday.

The Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan held a session on 27 October to
consider a number of important financial, economic and program documents
on the development of the country for the next year: the forecast of
key macroeconomic indicators, the concept of tax and budget policy, the
draft state budget and the Program of job creation and employment of the
population.
Tashkent hosted an event dedicated to the United Nations Day. It was
attended by members of the Senate and the Legislative Chamber of the
Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan, representatives of ministries and
departments, NGOs and international organizations.
US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, who was Uzbekistan on a working
visit, familiarized herself with the activities of the Women’s Health
Center on 23 October.
