The seventh plenary session of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan continued its plenary session in Tashkent on 6 December.

The senators approved the law on introducing changes and amendments in some legislative acts prepared in accordance with the concept of tax policy for 2012. Changes are being introduced, in particular, in the Administrative Responsibility, Civil, Housing and Tax Codes.

Then the upper house of the parliament approved a number of laws on ratification of international agreements.

Among them are the law on ratification of the correcting documents to the Charter and the Convention of the International Telecommunications Union, adopted by the ITU conferences in 2006 (Antalya) and 2010 (Gvadalahara).

The senators approved the law on ratification of the Agreement on the Eurasian group for counteraction to legalization of the criminal incomes and financing terrorism, signed in Moscow on 16 June 2011, and the law on ratification of the Convention of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, Yekaterinburg, 16 June 2009.

The Senate approved the proposal of the Cabinet of Ministers on changing the borders of Samarkand city and Akdarya and Samarkand districts of Samarkand region.

The Senate passed resolutions on the election of the chairman of the Supreme Court, introducing changes in the structure of the Higher Economic Court and appointment of the ambassador of Uzbekistan to Japan.

In total, 26 issues were considered during the two-day plenary session of the Senate, including 15 laws.
