On June 11 this year at the Oksaroy Residence in Tashkent the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov received the Special Envoy of the President of the Russian Federation on the relations with CIS states Farit Mukhametshin, the Uzbekistan National News Agency reported.

At the Oksaroy talks the sides have had a detailed exchange of views on bilateral and multilateral cooperation as a part of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), the report said.

Also, the Uzbek Leader and Russian President’s CIS affairs Special Envoy discussed the urgent issues of rationally using the water and energy resources of the region.

Mr. Mukhametshin has thanked President Islam Karimov for a warm welcome in Tashkent.
