News Conference Addresses Measures to Prevent Emergencies
Uzbekistan pays a special attention to protecting population and territories from emergency situations of anthropogenic nature, natural calamities, and particularly, protecting from torrents and landslides, the report by the Uzbekistan National News Agency said March 30.
Those who have spoken at the news conference held at the Ministry for Emergency Situations of the Republic of Uzbekistan said that at the moment a particular work has been underway in terms of implementing the certain decrees and resolutions by President in this direction, as well as coordinating the concerted reaction of state structures during emergencies.
According to the news conference, the banks of rivers and lakes prompt to allow floods have been reinforced with the state of throughput capacity of torrent flows and landslides to have also been examined.
Also, the awareness work is being held among population in terms of telling them about the rules of reacting given possible emergencies and saving those in need of help. The necessary study and methodical tools were prepared, according to emergency officials.
