Uzbekistan renders a substantial attention towards reviving the rich heritage of ancestors. At the moment, the country accomplishes the work on reconstructing and bettering the sacred places of burials of renowned medieval thinkers and saints, studying and preserving their scientific labors for forthcoming generations.
Nowadays, the unique books and manuscripts are being safe-kept at the library of the Board of Muslims of Uzbekistan. One of the ancient samples of Holy Koran - “Usman Muskhafi” - is now preserved in a special glass box placed at the Myui Muborak madrassah of the Khazrati Imam Complex in Tashkent.
In the seventh century on the orders of Caliph Usman bin Affan this sanctuary has been made into a book and prepared in several copies. Sakhibkiran (great commander and state figure) Amir Temur brought the Holy Koran of “Usman Muskhafi” to our lands. The text of the Holy Koran has been rewritten by renowned calligraphers of that time.
With a view of implementing the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan of June 8, 2007 on providing for a proper safekeeping of “Usman Muskhafi”, the Ministry of Culture and Sport has procured high technology equipment on creating the necessary conditions for safekeeping the Holy Scripture.
The equipment was made by the U.S.-based Wei T’o Company. It allows to preserving books and manuscripts in optimal conditions, controlling the necessary level of temperature, moisture and light, thus, by preserving their invaluable content for the future.
During the visit to Uzbekistan, Richard Smith, the Wei T’o Company president, participated in holding of the two-day study courses on exploiting the equipment for the staff members of the library of the Board of Muslims of Uzbekistan and specialists of the Institute of Oriental Studies at the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan.
At the moment, the library workers are engaged in starting up with using the said technology.
