The torch of the republican sports competitions Umid Nihollari 2012 according to tradition was lit from the sun rays at the Institute of material science of the scientific-production Association “Physics and Sun” of Uzbek Academy of Sciences in Parkent district of Tashkent region.

The representatives of Vatanparvar organization, Republican Center of Technical and Applied sports, relevant ministries and agencies, public and athletes took part in the event.

Three-stage sports competitions, embedded in our country under the leadership of President, as well as the Olympic Games begin with the torch lighting ceremony, which has a deep symbolic meaning. Such traditions serve to encourage boys and girls involved in sports, to achieve great success in international sports arenas.

…Under the solemn music, well known sportsmen of our country and a group of Umid Nihollari 2012 participants came to the stadium. The national anthem of the Republic of Uzbekistan was played.

The winner of the I Olympic Games among juniors held in Singapore, boxer Sardor Begaliyev, winner of the World Cup in Shotokan Karate-do, Zulfiya State prize-winner Zulkhumor Boboyeva and one more winner of World Cup in Shotokan Karate-do Sevara Abdulhakimova entered the stadium with the torch of Umid Nihollari 2012.

They solemnly handed the torch over Otabek Abdukodirov, the student of Parkent transport and service professional college.
