Umid Nihollari 2012 (Progeny of Hope), the republican sports games among schoolchildren completed in the city of Navoi.

The representatives of teams of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, all regions and Tashkent city have gathered in the field. The closing ceremony of Umid Nihollari 2012 sports games began with awarding of winners.

The team of Tashkent city winning the first place in the team competitions was awarded with the original script of the congratulation of President to the participants of Umid Nihollari sports games and Damas car.

Teams of Navoi and Samarkand regions, which took the second and third places received the President’s gifts – keys of Damas cars. A group of pupils who have shown their skills, desire to win and achieved good results were awarded with special prizes.

“Umid Nihollari 2012, the celebration of sports and friendship will forever remain in my memory,” said the owner of the gold medal Umid Nihollari 2012 in belbogli-kurash Abdurasul Khabibullayev from Namangan. “The final stage of the competition was full of memorable events and records. The competition demonstrated the increasing skills of pupils and consequent development of sports in all regions of our country.”

The best young athletes who have shown their talents and skills in the district, city and regional stages in 12 types of sports competed in the final stage of the competitions. These competitions conducted in full compliance with the Olympic principles.

Umid Nihollari, Barkamol Avlod and Universiade serve for thousands of young people as a starting point to achieve high goals in sports. Almost all the athletes, who now worthily defending the honor of Uzbekistan at international sporting arenas, at the Olympic Games, World and Asian Championships have revealed their skills firstly in such competitions for pupils and students.

Many cultural and educational events, trips to the sights were organized in the framework of the event. Participants traveled to the city recreation park named after Alisher Navoi and laid a wreath to the monument of the great poet.

The pupils were impressed especially by the visits to the historic monuments of XVI century of Karmana district, Kosim Shaykh Complex, built in XI century, caravanserais of Rabati Malik and Sardoba and they have enriched their knowledge in the history of our Motherland.

Navoi free industrial and economic zone founded on the initiative of President Islam Karimov, is known not only in our country, but also far abroad. Almost twenty joint ventures operating in it produce various kinds of high quality modern products. Pupils got acquainted with the activities of the only Central Asian Free Economic Zone with a great interest.

Meetings with famous sportsmen, writers and art figures, as well as the concerts were held at Navoi college of computer science and electronics industry, culture and arts, industrial economy, sports, Navoi State Pedagogical Institute, Mining Institute and football boarding school.

At the end of the event, young athletes of Navoi region gave the flag of Umid Nihollari sports games to the representatives of Khorezm region, where the next competition will be held.

The torch of Umid Nihollari 2012 competitions snuffed out slowly, but its light never goes out in the hearts of the participants, it will illuminate their way to the sports and call for new achievements.

The closing ceremony of the republican sports games ended with show performances of athletes and concert program with the participation of young singers, UzA informs.
